The miles of Hill Country roadways provide numerous scenic circular loops for both the avid and casual cyclist. The routes listed under scenic drives are also excellent for cyclists. For most avid cyclists an approximately 27 mile loop heading north on Hwy 16 to Medina and returning to Bandera via Hwy 2828 and Hwy 3240 is an easy ride. Heading towards Medina, Hwy 16 bends and turns as it follows the Medina River. On the return on Hwy 3240, the terrain is basically level and you will be passing mostly ranch land.
Mountain bikers will not be disappointed with the Hill Country State Natural Area. The park is located approximately 10 miles northwest of Bandera and provides over 40 miles of trails of varying terrain for mountain biking. Check at the Ranger's station for descriptions of the trails, elevation climb, etc.
On the 230 acre ranch you are free to hike, bike or run the color coded trail system at your leisure. You will have direct access to the adjoining Hill Country State Natural Area with about 50 miles of trail to explore (free entrance for guests).
