Distance and difficulty: The hike will be about 2.4 miles. The trail includes very rocky, uneven walking surfaces including some challenging, steep areas (West Peak Overlook Trail).
What to bring: Bring plenty of drinking water. Dress for the weather and wear shoes that are comfortable for hiking. Bringing a flashlight is recommended but not required.
Where to meet: Trailhead parking area, about 1/2 mile north of the HQ building.
Cost: Free with park admission. Admission is $6 per visitor 13 years and up; free for visitors 12 years and younger; and free to visitors with a Texas State Parks Pass.
If you are arriving after office hours, please use the self-pay station, located in front of the HQ building. The self-pay station takes cash (exact change), check, reservation, or Texas State Parks Pass only.
Note: In the event of inclement weather, the hike may be moved or cancelled.
