Christmas in Bandera

For Weeks of Dec 20 , 2018 through January 2, 2019

The countdown for Christmas is now measured in hours rather than days. It’s time for checking the list twice and doing all the last minute shopping. But most of all it’s time to welcome relatives, friends and neighbors and it's also time to really start thinking about those New Year's Eve plans and New Year's resolutions.

Here are a few special happenings to share with family and friends:

Make sure you drive though lighted Christmas displays at Bandera City Park and also enjoy the display at the Bandera County Courthouse. Lights will be on, weather permitting, through New Year's.

Now through Christmas Eve the Silver Spur Guest Ranch is inviting everyone to come out and enjoy the Santa Express from 7:00 to 9:00 pm - a free lighted hayride with hot chocolate and caroling too.

Cold weather will not hamper the 3rd Thursday Cowboy Camp. Join Lew Pewterbaugh and his friends at the Flying L's Branding Iron on the 20th for an evening of good ole pickin' of cowboy songs.

On Saturday the 22nd, the Bandera Natural History Museum is Celebrating Christmas at the Museum. Happy Tails will be there with lots of animals to interact with and I've even been told Santa will be visiting as well. Better be there on time. There's only one show at 11:00 am and you know Santa needs to get back to the North Pole to begin loading his sled.

The Bandera General Store is inviting everyone to come spend some time with them on Christmas Day between 10:00am and 3:00pm. If you choose bring food to share. Bring your guitar if you are a picker. Most of all you are invited come to experience the joy of the season.

On Saturday, December 29, Dinosaur George will at the Bandera Natural History Museum to entertain kids of all ages.

Ridin' the River Cowboy Fellowship is bring the year to a close with a Goat Roping on December 30th at Mansfield Park.

Bandera County Cowgirls will be up on January 1, grooming their horses, and loading them to travel to Mansfield Park for their Annual Panoramic Photo.

These are just a few highlights.
